our culture

The story begins with the company’s leadership and their core values. M.E.P. began with the idea to be the go-to solution for the fresh juicing needs of bars, restaurants and resorts. In 2018, with a blend of passion and perseverance, M.E.P. began juicing out of a small rental kitchen.

One employee turned into two, two turned into four and the team continued to expand from there, workplace culture was organically forming. Realizing the value of employee retention, the founders listened to the needs of the team and took action.

Top priorities were: flexibility in scheduling, competitive wages, a benefits package, employee recognition and a sense of autonomy. Flexibility in scheduling to promote a healthy work life balance, preventing burnout. Competitive wages to confront the striking rise in today’s cost of living. Company benefits and employee recognition to support employee retention, while also addressing traditional employment expectations in the company. Most importantly, trust, respect and fairness to create a sense of autonomy or empowerment as the company grew. This culture in place, allowed M.E.P. to add more divisions to their portfolio: ready-made batched cocktails, dehydrated garnishes, 12oz consumer facing juice bottles and an in-house distribution system. Roughly 20 employees call M.E.P. home. After interviewing some team members, I came to discover the team not only supports each other at work, but also outside of work with unprompted social gatherings. A family was created.

The company is set to expand in 2024 with a larger facility allowing for a larger output capacity, newer equipment and more innovation. One thing remains constant, the core values that existed from day one.
